Pupil Premium Report
Pupil Premium (PP) was introduced in April 2011. The Pupil Premium is allocated to children who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Service Children and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. This will also include pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).
The Pupil Premium allocation for Denbury Primary School for the financial year 2020 - 2021 is £12,725. This is based on a total of 7 pupils on Free School Meals, Children in Care and Children from Service families.
Our Pupil Premium funding is used to remove the emotional and psychological barriers to learning that the children face. This is achieved through the work of our ELSA trained Pastoral teaching assistant.
The money allocated is being used in the following ways:
- Funding a part-time Pastoral Worker to run Emotional Literacy and other pastoral programmes;
- Supporting eligible children with the cost of the school residential.
- Support with leasing payments for IT hardware
Due to Covid-19, statutory assessments of pupils at the end of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 did not take place in 2020.
However, we have been able to measure the effect of the pupil premium by using attendance data and the level of engagement of children in their learning.
Our next review will take place in July 2021.
