Little Links Nursery

Welcome to Little Links

Little Links is our pre-school setting and is unique in both its size and the opportunities it offers. We limit the number of spaces available to children, with a maximum of 8 per session (3 and 4 year olds) to ensure each child’s individual needs are met. Little Links is a small, intimate provision which enables the fully trained staff to provide maximum and tailored care and attention to support your child’s needs in all areas of their developmental process; from their personal, social and emotional needs to communication skills as well as providing targeted academic stepping stones to ensure they have a smooth and happy transition into the Reception class. We know that a happy child is a child who feels ready to take risks, learn new skills, socialise, become independent and lifelong learners.

Little Links is part of our Foundation Stage Provision at Denbury Primary School, which is very much a part of the whole school. We are unique in our set up as we plan and build in daily opportunities to work, play and learn alongside the Reception children, using their classroom and outdoor areas to maximise learning experiences. Our Reception and Nursery children work and play alongside one another every day, learning from each other whilst developing their social, emotional and communication skills through these interactions. Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the means by which young people learn to think. Our emphasis is on developing communication and language skills, independence, getting ‘school ready’ and of course having lots of fun!

Working so closely on a daily basis with our Reception children and staff ensures the pre-school children are well equipped both socially and academically for a smooth transition into their Reception year.
